This work, which coined the term "metaverse," feels like a prophecy that describes the virtual world and the resulting changes in the real world.

Neal Stephenson ( October 31, 1959 ) (1920-1980) is an American novelist and science fiction writer born in Maryland.
Although best known as a post-cyberpunk science fiction writer, he also contributes non-fiction articles about technology to publications such as Wired Magazine, and serves as an advisor to Blue Origin, a company developing small suborbital spacecraft.
