LEATHER RIDERS JACKET

This is a rider's jacket by YOKO SAKAMOTO.

Unlike typical rider's jackets, this jacket has a simple design that has been stripped down to the essentials.

The cuffs are distinctively wide and zipper-free.

Instead of a belt, there are tucks in the back, giving it a voluminous look.

This high-quality, untanned cowhide is made using the Kawanishi tanning method, which involves careful pre-treatments such as washing, liming, and decalcification, taking more than twice the usual time and effort from the raw material preparation stage. Dyeing and oiling are performed twice, resulting in a rich color, a luxurious soft feel, and a refined appearance. Only about 10 tanneries still adhere to the Kawanishi tanning method. The leather, resulting from the intricate tanning process and multiple dyeing and oiling processes, is incredibly soft and deep in color, eliminating the need for numerous coloring and painting processes. With repeated wear, the color deepens and the feel becomes softer against the skin. It gradually conforms to the wearer's body and changes over time.
